Subject: Oregon Water Quality Standards

Importance: Normal

It's important that we have clean sources of water here in Oregon. A day after 1.5 million gallons of sewage overflowed into the Willamette River in Salem, water quality is more important than ever. Adopt the draft human health criteria for toxics based on the accurate fish consumption rate of 175 grams per day. This week the EPA released a proposed rule for the reduction of mercury from power plants based on the Clean Air Act. There's no secret that this kind of point-source pollution has equal effects on our water and could just as easily been presented in correlation with the Clean Water Act.

Please limit the variance rule only to standards that are affected by this rulemaking.
