Potential work session before October RWG on variance procedures/requirements.

Potential October Topics:

1.  Summary of rule “package” to date

2.  Draft criteria table with footnotes

3.  Intake credit rule – draft

4.  Compliance schedule for human health criteria – draft

5.  Variances:

a.  Recommended rule language

b.  Input on implementation concepts/procedures for DEQ guidance document

6.  Revisit “background pollutants” issue

Potential November Topics:

1.  Final variance discussion if needed

2.  Resolution on background pollutants

3.  Wrap up lose ends on criteria table and draft rule package

4.  Any further input needed on implementation policies and procedures

The Department will likely be interested in reconvening the RWG one or two times prior to rule adoption if the group is amenable.

•  During the public comment period (i.e. April or May), to discuss the final proposed rule package that went out for public comment and continued work of the Department on implementation policies and procedures; and/or

•  After the public comment period (i.e. July or August) to discuss DEQ’s response to comments.
