Subject: Update on EQC happenings

Summer greetings!

There are a couple of CWSRF program issues you should be aware of related to EQC actions that will be addressed at the August meeting in Newport and the October meeting in Bend.

· We are responding to a petition filed by the City of Coburg to the EQC that requests amendment of two temporary rules adopted last April to address ARRA. There will be a two week public comment period from July 20- Aug. 4, and the public can provide oral comments at the EQC meeting August 21^st in Newport. I am preparing a staff report that will be available on the EQC web site when it is finalized. Information about the public comment period and the petition is posted on the CWSRF web site: http://www.deq.state.or.us/wq/loans/loans.htm

· We are following up on the temporary rules with a permanent rulemaking to address ARRA since the temporary rules expire at the end of October. The proposed rules will be out for comment in August with public hearings scheduled in Medford, Bend, and Portland. I will provide more information when that public notice goes out.
